DJ Kenny Mulligan from Glasgow, Scotland is a DJ, a label owner, club promoter, radio show host and charity event coordinator who’s developed his own unique sound from acquiring a very avant-garde taste over the years.
In 1988, aged 15, he attended his first acid house rave in London. Instantly connecting with this new movement, he tuned into all the pirate radio stations and started taking notes. Technics 1210’s were bought followed by countless hours in record shops buying all the latest releases. At 16 he was given his first DJ gig at the legendary Bat Cave, Glasgow playing at an under 18’s rave.
In 1993 he immersed himself in the London free party scene, hitting various squat parties, witnessing the birth of London acid techno. He promptly started following underground sound systems such as Spiral Tribe, Jiba, Immersion and the Liberators DJs. This led to him forming the Acid Army Crew with fellow DJ ‘s and artists, making it their mission to promote underground techno by hosting mad parties, eventually becoming an integral link between the Glasgow and London techno party scenes.
Kenny also has strong connections in Europe, where he managed and coordinated radio shows for Station Son Particulier, Belgium and for Pure Radio Holland where he brought in the biggest names in Acid & techno , from Aphex Twin, Underground Resistance, CJ Bolland, Kraftwerk .808 State The Stay Up forever Acid Techno Crew , Acid Junkies & Renaat Vandepapelier owner of R & S records where Kenny and Ren held a weekly Sunday Chill Out show focusing on IDM ambient and the other side of electronica, Kenny curates 2 Clubs one in London called Resonate which he also had a regular Resonate radio show on London’s Hoxton FM.
Kennys shows are interactive, where he invites ground-breaking electronic artists in for interviews and to play wicked new music, something Kenny is no stranger to as owner of Dirty Slates Records, releasing techno, acid, house and electro trax. And recently The More Experimental Strict Tempo Record label focusing on weird wonkey experimental strange warped music from the most bizzare artists of the international techno scene. at warehouse raves, squat parties and events across the UK including London’s premier techno club, Don’t, Glastonbury Festival, Aurora Festival, Pirate Club and Future Boogie, reading fest, Club 414 ELEMENTAL with the cream of the UK Acid & Techno Underground Collectives, and many more to many to remember.
He created the experimental all-day event, Resonate. Here DJ’s and artists jam together and socialise within a unique gathering of acid and techno heads, misfits, hippies and punks. He also runs the Philanthropy Party benefit nights which raise cash for a London homeless and refugee community projects
., He recently was involved in his new project called Tenement Acid featuring the sounds of the Glasgow Afterparty Scene.
2014 seen him launch new Glasgow club night The Wax Factory, featuring DJs and Artists such as Jerome Hill , Neil Landstrumm, 14Anger , Kenny Campbell and the Legendary Local Pussy Power Crew ,which after a few years break The Wax Factory nights are being resurrected in 2023, still staying true to his core reference of the love of bringing together international and local DJ’s and artists playing all genres within the electronic kingdom and a new Radio Show bringing The Best Of Underground Artists from across the globe and Local Upcoming DJs /artists and Producers
